Sunny and I live alone so she pretty much gets everything she wants, including sleeping with me. She doesn't take up much space so it works for now. My favorite is falling asleep with her in the little spot she always goes to.
I'm typically laying on my left side, kinda fetal position but not quite, pillow under my head and one just in front of me. She'll come in and get right in the little nook, laying her head over my side body.
We don't stay like this all night but I usually fall asleep this way. When I wake up she's elsewhere, but still close by.
Anyone else with small dogs? Same for you? Maybe I'm the weird one.
Falling asleep with a dog in bed is the best! I have a large lab, but she sleeps with me every night. I lay on my left side, and she gets in the crook behind my legs. It's so comforting and truly a stress reliever. I can relate to your post!
ReplyDeleteOur dog doesn't sleep with us at night, but we get lots of nappy snuggle sleeps on the couch with here and they are the best. She's not very small, but small enough to lay on me like a weighted blanket of love.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, what is weird about sleeping with your dog? And Sunny is incredibly adorable, by the way. Both of my kids coslept with us and our dogs do, too. My Lucky dog, who was my girl for 12 years, passed in December. Frankly, I am heartbroken. We planted a jacaranda tree, which can grow up to fifty feet, in our front yard to honor her. Pups are just the best.Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI have a purebred dachshund and a dachshund-chocolate lab mix. (I have *no* idea how that happened - mom was the lab!) Both of them sleep with us at night. I love having someone to snuggle or to sleep on my feet when it's cold! And no, there's no such thing about posting too much about your dog!
